Tripodi, Dewey and Izzarelli Call for a Town of Ossining Emergency Management Team

Three members of the Ossining GOP are calling for a Town of Ossining Emergency Management Team.

The following is a news release from the Ossining GOP:

After this most recent storm caused massive problems and powers outages for many in the Town of Ossining,  Councilman and candidate for Ossining Town Supervisor Peter Tripodi is calling for a Town of Ossining Emergency Management Team with his running mates Kim Izzarelli and Stephen Dewey.  “Together with our Highway personnel, elected officials, and citizen volunteers we must put together a team, a response plan, and a list of contacts for situations such as power outages, trees falling, and flooding.” said Councilman Tripodi.  “Together we can volunteer our time and help see our community through its toughest times.  These situations call for leadership and command structure, right now the Town of Ossining has neither and this was very evident this past weekend.”

Stephen Dewey, a board member of the Westchester County Commission of Emergency Medical Services, and Candidate for Ossining Town Councilmember  said, “Emergency preparedness is key to a municipality’s ability to overcome disasters, power outages, and snow storms.  As a councilman I will work with all interested parties to get this going.”

“Having a text message alert system, like other municipalities currently have, would be a key in alerting the community about serious issues within our community” stated Kim Izzarelli.  “There shouldn’t be a reason as to why this currently is not in place; it’s just common sense to adjust community alerts with the change in technology.”
