17-Year-Old Boy Dies During LI Hockey Game: Police
The community is cloaked with grief after teen's sudden death,
BETHPAGE, NY — A 17-year-old boy died during an ice hockey game on Long Island Saturday night, police said.
According to Nassau County police, medics and officers responded to the Town of Oyster Bay Skating Center on Stewart Avenue, at 9 p.m. after a report that the high school student had lost consciousness on the ice during an intermission of a hockey game.
Civilians at the scene began CPR, which was continued upon ambulance and police arrival, police said.

The teen was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff, police said. There is no criminality suspected; the investigation is ongoing, police said.
News 12 reported that a letter was sent to Massapequa High School students and parents, identifying Connor Kasin as the boy who had died. "It is heartbreaking to report that Connor did not survive. His passing is devastating to the Massapequa community, and we offer our deepest condolences to Connor's family and friends," the letter said.

Also according to New 12, he died after a "sudden medical event."
On Facebook, the Sharks Elite Youth Hockey team added: "It is with a heavy heart the Sharks share the sudden passing of 18U defenseman, Connor Kasin. Please keep the Kasin family in your thoughts and prayers."
