7 Children Hurt In LI School Bus Accident: Police

The driver slipped on ice and lost control of the bus, Brookville police said.

MILL NECK, NY — A school bus crash in Mill Neck sent several students to a hospital, police said.

The bus driver lost control on an ice patch and hit a tree just before 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, a Brookville Police Department spokesperson told Patch.

Seven children on the bus, ranging in age from seven to 19, were taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

The students were en route to the Mill Neck School for the Deaf.

The driver and an aide were not injured, and did not require medical attention, police said.

Locust Valley police assisted the Brookville Police Department at the crash scene.
