• Oyster Bay law would enforce illegal nursing home rentals (newsday.com) — Town of Oyster Bay officials are moving to tighten zoning rules so assisted living facilities can’t quietly rent units as regular apartments, closing a loophole in enforcement. The proposal follows a local facility’s misleading ad and would clarify that only properly certified independent-living units are allowed, protecting seniors and keeping facilities in line with state health regulations. 
• When every second counts: Theodore Roosevelt Elementary staff saves student's life (longislandpress.com) — Staff at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich district were publicly honored after their rapid response and CPR saved a kindergarten student’s life. At the Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Francesco Ianni and Oyster Bay Town Council Member Vicki Walsh praised the team’s training, compassion, and community spirit, while the child’s family shared emotional thanks for the town’s support.
