Gunshot Reports At LIU Post 'Unfounded'; Triggered Brief Lockdown
LIU Post confirmed that a police investigation found reports of gun shots at a residence hall were a false alarm and there is "no threat."

BROOKVILLE, NY β Reports of shots fired in a residence hall on the LIU Post campus Wednesday triggered a police investigation, and a brief lockdown, according to reports.
LIU Post confirmed to Patch that the reports were "unfounded."
The Brookville Police Department was notified, a LIU spokesperson said, and determined the reports weren't credible.

News 12 reported that students were told to stay inside after the reports, but then soon after were informed via text message that the reports were unfounded.
"There is currently no threat to the University community,β the spokesperson said.
