Hive Market & Gallery invites the public to view Colors of Freedom Exhibit, from Friday, May 9 – Saturday, May 31. An Artists’ Reception & Hive’s Fourth Anniversary Celebration will be held on Friday, May 9, from 6-8 pm at Hive Market & Gallery, 100-102 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay, NY 11771. The gallery and the reception are free and open to the public.
The exhibit features 24 artworks by a wide variety of artists. Michaela Agyemang, Steve Caputo, Loretta Cerame, Michaelene Cooper, Caitlin Darbee, Karen Davis, Olivia Franks, Michael Galatro, Aimee Girard, Emily Grace, Susan Herbst, Sabine Jean-Bart, Kash, Annette Kasle, Katheryn Laible, Chuck Lembo, Kassidy McGahan, Magali Modoux, Drigo Morin, Robert Nock, Mary O'Brien, Ornella Pepe, Lila Slattery, and Joan Stevens.
Part of the proceeds of the exhibit will benefit Blue Star Mothers, Nassau County, NY 14, a not-for-profit made up of mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers and female legal guardians who have children serving in the military, guard or reserves, or children who are veterans. The organization focuses on our troops, veterans, and families of our Fallen Heroes.
“My journey as a Military MoM has inspired me to bring this exhibit to The Hive,” Laura Escobar, owner of the Hive, explains. “My daughter Arianna is an active-duty Marine, and I’m so proud of her! I am extremely excited to see what the creative community will share!”
“With Armed Forces Day on May 17, and Memorial Day on May 26, we thought this would be the perfect timing for this exhibit,” said Susan Herbst, Hive’s Gallery Coordinator. “The opening reception of the show on May 9 gives us the added opportunity to invite the community to celebrate Hive’s fourth anniversary.”
