Jericho High School Diver Rachel Yang Wins State Title, Breaks Records

Yang broke state, meet and federation records on her way to the New York State girls title. She led the meet "start to finish."

JERICHO, NY — Rachel Yang from Jericho is the 2022 New York State girls diving champion. Yang, a junior at Jericho High School, broke state, meet and federation records on her way to Friday's victory.

According to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Yang "led the entire meet start to finish."

Manhasset freshman Victoria Wang was the top-ranked diver in the state going into the meet. She clinched the third place spot.

Yang's final score of 571.15 put her well ahead of the second place finisher's 537.55. Wang scored 530.15.
