Locust Valley High School Names Valedictorian And Salutatorian
The top two students from Locust Valley's Class of 2023 have "balanced class work, extra-circulars and athletics," district says.

LOCUST VALLEY, NYβAlisha Uduevbo and Clare Simon are officially Locust Valley High School's Class of 2023 valedictorian and salutatorian. The two students "have impressively balanced class work, extra-circulars and athletics throughout their four years at LVHS," Locust Valley School District said in an announcement this week.
Uduevbo, named valedictorian, hopes to pursue medicine in college and studies IB Biology.
βI called my mom right after [getting the news] and she was screaming into the phone and telling my sister to come to the phone,β Uduevbo said in the release from the district.

βIt shows that all the work and some sleepless nights have paid off and been worth it.β
Simon, salutatorian, is interested in studying engineering. She competes on the school's cross-country team and is also an artist.

βWhen youβre in the middle of doing all these assignments and tests itβs hard to see the end goal sometimes,β she said.
βNow weβre not done yet, but it shows that in the long run it has been worth it.β
Both students were named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship in September for their PSAT scores.
