Oyster Bay Businessman, Air Force Veteran Dies At Age 90
Harold C. L. Beardsley, an Air Force veteran and the founder of Oyster Bay Insurance, has died at the age of 90.
OYSTER BAY, NY — Harold C. L. Beardsley, an Oyster Bay resident and Air Force veteran, died on Wednesday. He was 90.
Beardsley joined the Air Force in 1950, according to his obituary, and retired as Lt. Col. in 1981 — after which he established a family business called Oyster Bay Insurance.
"Harold was a beacon of light to those of us close to him," his obituary read. "He lived a long and fulfilling life, committed to his family and faith, and surrounded by good friends."

He is survived by four children and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Oyster Bay at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church (60 E. Main St., Oyster Bay, NY 11771) or the Matinecock Lodge #806 (14 W. Main St., Oyster Bay, NY 11771).
