Nassau Sailing Team Looks To Become World Champions At Global Race
Riptide Racing are through to the quarterfinals of the World Match Racing Tour in Sydney, Australia, as they look to the America's Cup.

OYSTER BAY, NY β Oyster Bay-based sailing team Riptide Racing has "one simple goal," they say: To become world champions, and win the World Match Racing Tour. The global sailing race is being held this month in Sydney, Australia, and is considered a pathway to the America's Cup.
Riptide Racing was created in 2012 by skipper Chris Poole, and according to the team's biography, the first year the new team made it to fourth in the U.S. in the match racing circuit.
In Sydney, teams from all over the world will compete for the world title. Poole and his crew finished at the top of the qualifying stage, advancing to the quarterfinals, Sail World, reported, saying the Oyster Bay team "excelled."

"This intense pressure is what has propelled Riptide to the top of the U.S. sailing scene," Riptide Racing says on their website.
"Now entering our 6th season in the match racing game we look towards continuing to compete on the world circuit. And in doing so hopefully catch the eyes of new 36th America's Cup campaigns."
