Oyster Bay Student-Artist Earns Award Of Excellence In Go APE Exhibit
The student had her oil painting, "Vows," selected by the Art League of Long Island for its 17th annual "Go APE" AP Student Exhibition.

OYSTER BAY, NY β Ava DeAngelis, a senior artist from Oyster Bay High School, had her oil painting, "Vows," selected by the Art League of Long Island for its 17th annual "Go APE" Advanced Placement Student Exhibition, the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District announced.
She was one of eight high schoolers to receive an Award of Excellence for her piece which is now on display at the Art League of Long Islandβs Strolling Gallery in Dix Hills until March 9.

Oyster Bay High School is one of 38 schools to participate in the exhibit, and DeAngelis is among 103 high school artists who have their artwork displayed. Each year, "Go APE" celebrates the exceptional artwork of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or equivalent art students from high schools across Long Island.

DeAngelis has been invited to a special artist reception on March 9 where she will be recognized along with the other student-artist recipients.
"The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District congratulates DeAngelis on this great achievement," the district wrote.
