Oyster Bay's Former 4-Sport Athlete Enters Athletics Hall of Fame

Reginald "Reggie" Giddens was inducted into the Nassau County High School Athletics Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

OYSTER BAY, NY — One of Oyster Bay High School's most successful four-sport athletes has been inducted into the Nassau County High School Athletics Hall of Fame.

Reginald "Reggie" Giddens was inducted on Wednesday at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. He is part of the 48-member class of 2020. The ceremony was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the finest all-around athletes in Oyster Bay High School history. Giddens was a unique four-sport athlete, starring in football, basketball, track and field, and baseball.

He excelled on the gridiron as a tight end on offense and a defensive end.

Giddens was an All-Scholastic selection in 1950 and 1951.

He also had an outstanding basketball career during which he was an All-County selection in the 1950-1951 season.
