Repeat Winner at Oyster Bay Triathlon
Babylon native Tom Eicklberg takes home second straight TOBAY Triathlon win.
Babylon native Tom Eicklberg, the swim coach at SUNY-Cortland, repeated Saturday as champion of the Greater Island Running Club's Runner's Edge TOBAY Triathlon.
Eicklberg, 24, won in 56 minutes, 17.83 seconds. It was just enough to hold off Boulder, Colo. athlete Brian MacArthur (56:47.80). But it fell 1:19 short of Eicklberg's record pace a year ago.
The top women's winner was Karen Pompay, 42, of Garden City, at a time of 1:06:01.57.

The race featured a half-mile swim in Oyster Bay Harbor; 15-kilometer bike through Oyster Bay, Laurel Hollow, and Cove Neck; and a 5-kilometer run through Mill Neck and Brookville and finished at Theodore Roosevelt Park.Â
