'Sip For A Cure' Cancer Fundraiser Coming To Locust Valley

The Olivia Hope Foundation is bringing in guest bartenders who will be competing for tips that all go to fighting childhood cancer.

LOCUST VALLEY, NY β€” Enjoy cocktails while helping to fight childhood cancer.

The Olivia Hope Foundation, based in Syosset, is bringing in guest bartenders for its "Sip For A Cure" event. The fundraiser is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 19 at Happy Valley, at 4 The Plaza, Locust Valley.

Guest bartenders will shake up cocktails and compete for tips. All money will go to the foundation's Warrior Program, said Shelley LoRusso, co-founder of The Olivia Hope Foundation. A portion of the proceeds will go to two families on Long Island; one to a family of a child that is terminally ill with cancer, and the other to the family of a child with a very poor prognosis, LoRusso said.

The foundation was created in memory of Olivia Hope LoRusso, who died of acute myeloid leukemia in 2017 at the age of 12.
