TOB Extends Ice Skating Hours For MLK Holiday

OYSTER BAY, NY — Grab your friends and strap on those skates, because the Town of Oyster Bay is extending its ice rink hours for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

MLK Day — a national holiday declared in memory of the late civil rights icon — always lands on the third Monday of January. This year, it's Jan. 17.

"For a fun, family-friendly activity, residents can head to one of the Town's ice skating rinks — outdoors at Marjorie Post and Syosset-Woodbury Community Parks, and indoors at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage — on Martin Luther King Jr. Day," said Councilwoman Laura Maier. "All three facilities will be offering special public sessions to provide children who are off from school with a fun-filled activity."

All Town-operated skating rinks will be open for public sessions from 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
