WWII Veteran Melvin R. Warren Dies At Age 93
Funeral services for Melvin R. Warren will be held Tuesday and Wednesday in Oyster Bay.
OYSTER BAY, NY — Melvin R. Warren, an East Norwich resident and World War II veteran, died on Aug. 15. He was 93 years old.
According to Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Warren is the beloved husband of Irene "Rene" Ryan for 70 years, loving father of Kenny (Patty) and Ronnie, cherished grandfather of Brian, Randy, and Gregory, and great grandfather of Brandon, Kayla, and Gracelyn.
His family will receive friends at Christ Church (61 E. Main St., Oyster Bay) on Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. the following day.

Masks are required at Christ Church, according to the funeral home. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, family members request donations in Warren's name to Hospice Care Network of Melville or the East Norwich Volunteer Fire Company.
