BROOKLYN, NY — Two boys were stabbed during a fight near the Gowanus Houses, leaving the 11-year-old victim in "critical condition," police said.

The fight broke out about 2:45 on the grounds of the Gowanus Houses, near Baltic and Bond streets, according to the NYPD.

In the midst of the fight, two boys — an 11-year-old and 13-year-old — were stabbed, the spokesperson said.

The 11-year-old was knifed in the chest and back, and the 13-year-old was slashed in the hand, according to the NYPD.

First responders rushed to the area and took both boys to the hospital, where the younger victim remains in "critical condition," the spokesperson said.

A police department spokesperson didn't immediately know how many people were involved in the fight, but said it was a "large dispute."

As of 4:15 p.m., the incident remains under investigation, and no one has been arrested, according to the NYPD.
