'Affordable' South Slope Apartments Available For $2K Per Month

One and two-bedroom apartments on 19th Street hit the affordable housing lottery this week.

SOUTH SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Apartments in a new building on 19th Street have hit the affordable housing market this week for at least $2,000 per month.

The three apartments, one one-bedroom and two two-bedroom units, are in the three-story 564 19th Street building, right on the border of Windsor Terrace.

Each "affordable" apartment can go to renters who make 130 percent of the median yearly salary for the area.

For the one-bedroom units, that means a minimum of $68,572 per year. The maximum salary is either $97,110 if one person is applying or $111,020 if two people are applying. That apartment will cost $2,000 per month.

In the two-bedroom apartments, renters must make a minimum of $82,286 per year. The maximum salary is $111,020 if two people are applying, $124,930 if three people are applying and $138,710 if four people are applying to live there. The two bedrooms cost $2,400 per month.
