This Brooklyn ZIP Code Is Among Priciest In Nation For A 2nd Year
The borough made it on a list of the 100 priciest ZIP codes in the country for the first time last year.
CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A ZIP code in Brooklyn cracked a ranking of the country's 100 most expensive spots for the second year in a row, though it may be the last time the borough lands on the list.
According to the annual study by Property Shark, released this week, Red Hook and Carroll Gardens' 11231 ZIP code landed 100 on a list of the 100 most expensive ZIP codes in 2020.
The last-place spot comes a year after the ZIP code made history as the first in Brooklyn to land a spot on the list.

The ZIP code's $1.45 million median home sale price remained unchanged from 2019, while some ZIP codes across New York and the country continued to soar, meaning Carroll Gardens was outpaced on the list.
The stagnant home prices in 11231 came as other New York City ZIP codes saw varying jumps.
One ZIP coded covering Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan saw the largest price drop of any in the country. The median sale price there was $1.56 million, almost a full million dollars less than the $2.52-million median the year before.
On the other hand, prices rose in some neighborhoods, like the Upper West Side, where a new luxury condo development helped the 10069 ZIP code shoot up by 42 percent this year — the nation's highest increase.
