Junior's Cheesecake Launches NYC Food Truck Tour This Weekend

BROOKLYN, NY — Dessert-loving New Yorkers don't have to go to Brooklyn to get a slice of the city's most iconic cheesecake this weekend.

Junior's Restaurant is bringing $5 slices of cheesecake across the five boroughs in a traveling food truck from July 29 to July 31.

The restaurant's first-ever cheesecake mobile is in celebration of National Cheesecake Day on July 30.

To add to the festivities, the truck will serve up a full spread of cheesecake toppings — ranging from strawberry sauce to rainbow sprinkles — and offer a "wheel of cheesecake" that customers can spin to win prizes, like free slices and themed apparel.

Alan Rosen, the third-generation owner of Junior's, said the cheesecake mobile is going to be an "unforgettable" experience. "As Marie Antionette might have said, 'let them eat cheesecake!,'" he said.

The truck will begin the weekend parked at Smorgasburg World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and then travel to Long Island City until 4 p.m., according to Junior's.

The next day, the truck will start in the Bronx and then drive to Staten Island to host a cheesecake-eating competition. Junior's will end the weekend in its home borough of Brooklyn, parking the cheesecake mobile on Coney Island's Surf Avenue.

The truck's exact location will be posted on Junior's social media pages during the weekend, the restaurant said.

Cheesecake-lovers who can't make it to the truck can still dig into the discounts this weekend at Junior's brick-and-mortar locations, which will serve up $5 slices of plain cheesecake and discounts on full cakes.

Those farther afield can still get $10 off a full-priced cake from July 29 through August 2 by using the code "CHEESECAKEDAY22" when placing an order on the Junior's website.
