New Park Slope Movie Theater Will Open Its Doors For Halloween
Nitehawk Cinema is turning the theater into a haunted house for a first look inside since the old Pavilion closed.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Brooklynites can get their first look inside the new Nitehawk Cinema this month — but not to see a movie.
The theater — the site of the old Park Slope Pavilion, in Bartel Pritchard Square — will host a Halloween bash that includes booze, candy, crafts and more in the front foyer.
It's the first time the theater's doors will be open to the public since the Pavilion's goodbye party at the beginning of November.

Here's how Nitehawk describes the event:
Start your Halloween evening with Nitehawk Cinema as we transform the former Pavilion for one night only into a haunted house and Fall Open House event with seasonal beer and giveaways provided by Brooklyn Brewery for parents, a surprise author reading with Community Bookstore from 3-5 p.m., arts and crafts activities like sugar cookie decorating, free candy for trick-or-treating and a chance to win a prize from Nitehawk Cinema.

When the theater was bought and then closed for renovations, the original target date for it to reopen was the fall of 2017. But construction delays pushed that date to early next year.
Workers ended up discovering the remains of an old balcony in between the first and second floors of the structure that they intend to preserve.
