Park Slope Cafe And Music Venue Reopens Next Month

The former Sir D's Lounge will reopen next month at The Slope Lounge with a renovated storefront and new owners, Bklyner reported.

PARK SLOPE, NY — A cafe and live music spot on Union Street that shuttered this year plans to reopen next month under a new name with different owners, Bklyner reported.

Sir D's Lounge, at 837 Union St., will reopen late last month as The Slope Lounge after the spot was bought by Omari Clarke, the website reported.

Clarke told Bklyner that he plans to keep the coffee shop at the spot but expand its "music and nightlife" along with a full kitchen of Jamaican cuisine to offer dinner from 3 to 5 p.m.

Sir D's Lounge opened in 2016 taking over the Tea Lounge when it closed in 2014 after nearly 14 years in the neighborhood, Bklyner reported.

The spot remained Sir D's until they closed their doors in April.Clarke, who was born in Jamaica but grew up in Park Slope, passed by the shop when it shuttered and took it over from David Dixon, Bklyner reported.
