Park Slope Crime Took A Nosedive In November, Data Shows

PARK SLOPE, NY — Crime in Park Slope is heading in the right direction.

According to recent data released by the NYPD, nearly all crime in the neighborhood plummeted in November in comparison to the same month last year.

Overall, major crimes saw a nearly 13 percent reduction in November 2025.

Most notably, burglaries dropped by more than 42 percent, falling from 14 reported incidents in 2024 to just 8 in 2025. Robberies declined by 33 percent, from 12 reports last year to 8 this year. Grand larceny — thefts over $1,000 — also fell by more than 10 percent, while retail thefts decreased from 52 in 2024 to 46 in 2025.

But one major crime was still on the rise in November: felony assault, which is up 40 percent this year (14 reports) compared to last (10).

Most minor crimes for November followed a similar trend, except for misdemeanor assault, which saw a five percent increase over last year.

Compared to two years ago, major crimes in Park Slope are down nearly 31 percent. And compared to 15 years ago, crime stats are still lower by over two percent.
