Park Slope: Meet Your New Local Politicians

Robert C. Carroll is a new face who will represent Park Slope, filling the shoes of retired James Brennan. Full election 2016 roundup here.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The makeup of politicians representing Park Slope won't change much after Tuesday's Election Day, but the one seat guaranteed to change went to Democrat Robert C. Carroll.

Carroll took victory in the race for the 44th State Assembly District over Republican Glenn Nocera. Carroll will fill the seat vacated by James Brennan, who decided to retire after representing the district since 1984.

"I met Carroll twice. He's a nice fellow," said Dennis, a Park Slope resident and former Wall Street banker who voted for Carroll, and who preferred not to give his last name. "Local reps are usually Democratic. ... It has been this way for a number of years. It doesn't change too much, but it's different this year because of the presidential candidates. They're pretty outgoing."
