Park Slope NYPD Sgt. Arrested In Drunken Driving Bust: Cops
The troubled 78th Precinct's Sgt. Andrew Lindsay — a cop with long record of misconduct accusations — was arrested Friday, police said.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — An off-duty NYPD sergeant assigned to Park Slope’s troubled 78th Precinct was arrested Friday in a drunken driving bust, police said.
Sgt. Andrew Lindsay, 37, is accused of drunkenly crashing his personal vehicle into a parked car about 1:30 a.m. at Fulton and Clinton streets, the New York Daily News first reported.
When cops from Clinton Hill’s 88th Precinct responded, Lindsay refused take a blood-alcohol and officers arrested him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, police said.

Lindsay’s arrest is only the latest high-profile kerfuffle related to the 78th Precinct, which covers Park Slope and Prospect Park.
The precinct’s Capt. Frantz Souffrant has been accused of mismanagement in the wake of his cops failing to find a Prospect Park dog killer. He also faced accusations he was involved in an in-precinct love triangle, as well as a discrimination lawsuit from a top lieutenant who said he refused to take her calls amid a school bomb threat.

Lindsay himself is no stranger to accusations of misconduct.
Civilian Complaint Review Board records show Lindsay faced nine misconduct complaints since 2011.
Watchdogs substantiated two of those complaints against Lindsay, records show. In 2014, they found he used excessive force with a “blunt instrument as a club” — a finding that resulted in NYPD discipline, according to records.
Lindsay also faced discipline after watchdogs substantiated that he failed to give a person his business card when asked — a violation of the Right To Know Act that requires cops to identify themselves, records show.
NYPD officials told Patch they didn’t have further information on Lindsay’s arrest Friday.
Cops who arrested Lindsay requested charges against him of driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by alcohol and refusal to take breath test, police said.
