ICYMI: Park Slope's Union Hall Will Be Closed Through April After Devastating Fire
A fire tore through the Park Slope bar and music venue on Friday, March 24.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Union Hall will be closed at least through April after a devastating fire tore through the Park Slope bar and music venue last weekend.
The bar said on its Facebook page that all planned concerts are being moved to other Brooklyn venues through the end of the month.
"There was a fire at Union Hall Friday, March 24," reads a message posted this weekend. "No one was injured and the fire was quickly contained but there was damage, which is currently being assessed. In the short term we will be closed and all shows are cancelled for April (or moved to later date), except where noted and moved to other locations. We hope to reopen as quickly as possible.

Patch has reached out to Union Hall for more information about the scope of the fire, recovery efforts and whether the bar is doing any crowdfunding to help restoration. We'll update this post if we hear back.
The fire started just before midnight on Friday, March 24, in the bar's cockloft, according to the FDNY. It was under control about a half hour later.
The band Savak was finishing up its headlining set in the bar's basement that night when the fire broke out.
While the downstairs area didn't sustain major damage — "A few wet amps," Greg Vegas, who played saxophone with SAVAK that night, told Brooklyn Vegan — the upstairs didn't fare as well
"Place is wrecked," Hewson Chen of Lake Ruth told Brooklyn Vegan.
Someone tore up the club
