Teen Shot While Walking Near Park Slope, Police Say
The boy told police that he heard gunshots and then felt pain in his lower back, an NYPD spokesperson said.
BROOKLYN, NY — A teen was shot while walking on the street near Park Slope Tuesday night, police said.
The 16-year-old was heading around the back of the Wyckoff Gardens housing complex, located on Wyckoff Street near Third Avenue, about 11:15 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his lower back, according to the NYPD.
First responders rushed to the area and took him to a nearby hospital in "stable condition," a police spokesperson said.

The NYPD said the shooter, who was wearing all black, ran away from the area and remains on the loose as of Wednesday afternoon.
