Three South Slope Apartments Up For Grabs In Lottery

The one-bedroom apartments are renting at $2,088 per month.

SOUTH SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Three newly-built South Slope apartments are being offered through an "affordable" housing lottery. Applications for the homes, which are being offered to individuals and small families earning 130 percent of the area median income, open on Thursday, Oct. 4.

The three one-bedroom apartments are located in a three-story development on 22nd Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, according to the city's Housing Connect website. To qualify, applicants must earn an annual combined salary of at least $71,589 and no more than $122,070.

All three of the apartments are renting at a rate of $2,088 per month — which isn't too bad for the Park Slope area, but hardly qualifies as "affordable" for people in need of cheap housing.
