An Evening to Celebrate Birds on Long Island

Join CEED for a lively, community-driven night celebrating birds and birding. Our newest educator, Aidan Perkins, will share highlights from his 2025 record-breaking Big Bird Year in Suffolk County, with an astonishing 310+ species observed and still climbing. Learn what it takes to reach a milestone like this and hear the stories behind some unforgettable sightings.

This event is both a celebration and a welcome gathering. Come dressed as your favorite bird (costume contest!), connect with local birders and wind down by a bonfire after the talk. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just curious to start, this is a relaxed, fun way to build community around birds.

The program is open to the public with a suggested $10 donation.
