Here are the top stories today in Patchogue:

  1. Santa made his way back to the Patchogue River for its annual Holiday Boat Parade.
    The event, run by the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and the Patchogue Riverfront Committee, returned this weekend for the 27th annual parade. The parade had been cancelled in year’s prior due to the pandemic. This year’s theme was “A Christmas Movie,” allowing visitors to see some of their favorite holiday movies transformed into lighted boat parade floats. (Greater Long Island)
  2. Bellport gets into the holiday spirit with a soup-tasting contest at the four corners of the village on South Country and Station roads on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27, from 12- 2 p.m. Entries for the annual wreath contest will be displayed throughout the village starting Dec. 4. That evening, Santa will lead a holiday parade leaving the firehouse at 5:30 p.m., followed by a tree lighting at 6 p.m. (Newsday)
  3. The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) announced six new shows for 2022.
    The first new show is Marky Ramone "My Life as a Ramone" on Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. Marky Ramone is best known for the 15 years he spent drumming for the legendary Ramones. In this spoken word event, the last surviving Ramone tells the story "My Life as a Ramone," presented in conjunction with The Bowery Presents. Tickets can be purchased at PatchogueTheatre.org.   4. The Suffolk County Police Department seeks help in identifying and locating four suspects wanted for grand larceny at a pharmacy in Patchogue. Two men and two women stole medicine from CVS, at 470 W. Main St., at about 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 11, according to the department's Fifth Squad and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers. The stolen medicine is worth approximately $1,800.
