YAPHANK, NY – A 68-year-old man stabbed a coworker and then killed himself by jumping off a catwalk Wednesday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Jesus Saravia stabbed 22-year-old Milton Diaz at the Town of Brookhaven Landfill located at 350 Horseblock Road at about 9:30 a.m. Saravia then jumped off a catwalk inside the facility.
Both men were transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue. Diaz, of Brentwood, was listed in stable condition. Saravia, of Central Islip, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
