Here are the top stories in Patchogue today:

  1. A $2.3 billion, 15-year redevelopment plan envisions construction of a long-sought air terminal connecting Long Island MacArthur Airport and the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station. The proposal — which for the first time involves Islip Town and is a substantial revision of a $1.1 billion plan unveiled three years ago that called for construction of a 17,500-seat hockey arena and sports-related offices and medical facilities — would boost tourism and economic development by redeveloping a Suffolk County-owned parking lot and adding a convention center and 300-room hotel, county officials said. (Newsday)
  2. On a chilly night, Sayville Cinemas received a warm welcome back to the community.
After a 20 months without a film screening due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the beloved independently owned movie theater celebrated its reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday evening. (GreaterBayShore)
  3. Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan is about to glide on the ice of the stage of the Patchogue Theatre. The Gateway, the Patchogue's sister theater company, will present its "Holiday Spectacular on Ice" from Dec. 17 through Jan. One with Kerrigan, who will serve as host and featured skater. The Patchogue theater's stage will be transformed into an ice rink and will also feature a host of other skaters as well as singers, dancers and even a few canine capers. (Newsday)
