  1. A brand new airline is coming to MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma. The airline is called “Breeze Airways” and JetBlue founder David Neeleman is behind it. The airline and the airport are set to make the announcement today. It is not clear exactly where the flights will be headed and when they will begin.(News 12 Connecticut)
  2. Police in Suffolk County are investigating after one man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting on Sunday morning. It happened in the parking lot of Tiffany Plaza on Portion Road in Farmingville around 3 a.m. Jorge Mauricio Sevilla-Barrara, 28, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 3. It’s been a long road to the finish line, but Charles Wakefield, owner of the historic 11.5-acre Avery property in East Patchogue, has agreed to the county’s offer of purchase. “He has conditionally accepted the offer,” said Legis. Rob Calarco of Wakefield, who signed the Division of Real Property county agreement two weeks ago. Calarco has been carrying the Avery ball for at least two years. “The next step is conducting due diligence by the county; that means a title search and an environmental assessment we need to do to make sure there isn’t anything on the property that shouldn’t be there,” he added. “The county is drawing up a three-way contract of sale that includes the town.” Brookhaven Town has committed to 30% of the purchase price. Councilman Neil Foley joined Calarco in Avery’s preservation push. (Long Island Advance)
  4. Pat-Med CTE students visited East/West Industries, a local female operated aerospace and defense company to explore careers in the growing Long Island manufacturing field. Patchogue-Medford Hight School students were able to sit on part of a used U.S. Army jet plane and offered potential internships. (Twitter)
