Patchogue, NY — Patchogue resident Angela Raymond has created a new event for locals and businesses to "pay it forward with a random act of kindness on Main Street." The kindness day is slated for Sunday, January 26th, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.

Raymond told Patch that she thought of the idea for the first Patchogue Village Kindness Day "as a way to help bring the community together and stretch out the holiday cheer." She's working with the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to create kindness-themed promotions.

Yoga Sangha at 13 North Ocean Avenue will be giving out three free classes and yoga mats. Alternative Approach Acupuncture & Wellness will give out three free acupuncture treatments and one free massage, and there will be a free guided meditation at 3 p.m. for the public at Tranquility Within at 64 West Main Street.
