- The owners of a French bulldog that police said was stolen from a Huntington house in a Thanksgiving Day burglary are offering a $5,000 reward for the purebred's return. Sometime between 4-11 p.m. on Thursday, one or more burglars entered the home, on Robin Lane, and took the dog and a Sony PlayStation 5 video game console, the department wrote in a news release. The French bulldog, Stella, is four years old and approximately 20 pounds the release said. (Newsday)
- Police are investigating a shooting that killed a Long Island man overnight. The man was shot outside his Moriches residence on Friday, Nov. 26, at about 1 a.m. The victim, Tyrell Durham, age 37, who resided at Tall Oaks Circle, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk County Police said. - The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County’s highly-anticipated holiday Smith Point Light Show is back starting Nov. 27. The drive-thru experience — run in collaboration with the office of Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone — starts tomorrow at 5 p.m. and runs until Jan. 9. The show is a 1.5-mile trail of hundreds of bright displays at Smith Point County Park Campgrounds and all proceeds benefit Girl Scout programs for girls and families all over Suffolk County.
