The Boulders Prospect Baseball Club will hold tryout for high school baseball players ages 14 to 18 at Provident Bank Park in Pomona Saturday and Sunday.
Participants are asked to show up by 8:15 to register. The tryout for players in eighth and ninth grade is Saturday at 8:30 a.m. For grades 10 through 12, the tryouts are Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Cost to participate in the tryout is $35. The club recommends sending an email ahead of time to bouldersprospect@aol.com with the player's name, high school, graduation year and primary and secondary positions.
The tryout follows a showcase format. Players will be evaluated on defense, hitting, running and pitching.
The Boulders Prospect Baseball Club plans to have one team at four age levels for 2014. They will play in June and July, going to college showcase tournaments. The goal is to help provide exposure to college coaches for local players.
