The hamlet surrounding the property is often referred to as the "Hollywood of the Hudson" due to its stunning river views and the many notable figures that have both stayed and lived nearby. Snedens Landing has been home to past and present celebrities, including Laurence Olivier, John Steinbeck, Katharine Hepburn, Orson Wells, Mike Nichols, Al Pacino, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, Bill Murray, and Diane Sawyer. The single town road which grants entry and exit allows for privacy and seclusion from busy city life.

"Niederhurst is more than just an extraordinary home," Sanders said. "This property's storied history, its incredible amenities, location and its proximity to Manhattan make it the perfect weekend getaway or forever home for our distinguished buyer."

Built in 1874 and reimagined in 2016 by Architectural Digest's Top 100 designer and owner, Sara Story, Niederhurst has eight bedrooms, seven full baths and two half-baths, along with six fireplaces. The property was built in the 19th-century Victorian Gothic mansion style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

"We are delighted to confirm again Christie’s International Real Estate’s unique ability to connect distinguished clients with distinctive properties," said Ilija Pavlovic, president and CEO, Christie’s International Real Estate Group.
