Increasing White Cane Awareness at Palisades Center

1) White Cane Awareness Day takes place on the fourth floor of the Palisades Center in West Nyack from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Association for the Visually Impaired and co-sponsors, the New York State Commission for the Blind, Rockland Independent Living Center and Lions Club District #20 R-1, are celebrating Rockland County's first “White Cane Awareness Day.” It is designed to increase public awareness about the importance of the white cane as a tool for helping blind and visually impaired people live with greater independence.
