Part Of Route 9W To Close In Orangetown Saturday

ORANGETOWN, NY — Expect U.S. Route 9W to close in both directions between Shadyside Avenue and Hickey Street in Orangetown between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. Saturday.

The closure will facilitate maintenance activities, weather permitting, New York State Department of Transportation officials said.

Motorists should anticipate delays and follow the posted detour — State Route 59, State Route 303 and State Route 340.

Local residents will be able to access their properties.

Slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
