• Pearl River fridge business demands $5M from ex-employee (westfaironline.com) — A Pearl River–based refrigeration company is suing a former salesman in federal court, seeking $5 million in damages over allegedly diverted supermarket equipment business. The Rockland firm says confidential client data and customer relationships were misused, leading to lost contracts across the region. The defendant has not publicly responded to the claims.
   

• Long Island GOP Reps. LaLota, Garbarino split with party to vote for ACA subsidy extension (newsday.com) — Pearl River’s congressman, Republican Mike Lawler, joined two Long Island GOP colleagues in backing a three-year extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies, breaking with most of their party. Their votes helped the bill clear the House and move to the Senate, where they hope it sparks a bipartisan deal on health care affordability and fraud controls.
