Pearl River Boys Bowling Wins Small School Rockland Title

Pearl River clinched the title with a 7-0 victory over Nanuet Wednesday.

The Pearl River boys bowling team clinched its Rockland County's Small School Division title with a 7-0 victory over Nanuet Wednesday at Pearl River Lanes.

The Pirates finished third overall in the county.

"This year's boys team was one of the strongest I have ever coached," wrote Pearl River Coach Marni Torgersen, who has coached the team all of its 13 years. "This particular team ha depth with all the starters. On any day, anyone could be a standout. They are not only an exceptional group of bowlers. They are an exceptional group of young men."

The Pirates accounted for the top individual game in the county, a 1137, and the highest three-game series (3012). 

Pearl River's starters are Stephen Bruno, Brian Edsall, Paul owens, SEan Reagan-War and Keith Witte.

Pearl River's boys and girls teams wil compete in the Section 1 Championships Feb. 11 and 12 at Fishkill Bowl.
