
The Pearl River Fire Department received an Honor Award for its service during Hurricane Sandy at the Rockland County Fire Chief's Association meeting held at Pearl River Hook & Ladder Thursday.
The Pearl River Fire Department joined the Rockland County Technical Rescue and Pearl River Ambulance during the storm Oct. 29 2012 when a large tree fell on a home in Pearl River, killing one of the residents and injuring three others and trapping them inside. Orangetown Police and the Orangetown Highway Department also aided at the scene.
