Junior pitcher Mandy McCarthy struck out 13 and walked three in a five-hit shutout, leading Pearl River to a 1-0 victory. McCarthy contributed two of Pearl River's 12 hits. Katherine Gilbride and Alexa Murphy each went 2-for-3 with a double. Shortstop Sam Alicandri and Katherine Gilbride had two hits for Pearl River (6-2-1).  Nanuet pitcher Natasha Castello held Pearl River to one run in six innings, walking none. Junior Janine Mackey went 2-for-2 for the Golden Knights (6-3). Pearl River's next game is 4:30 p.m. Monday at Tappan Zee. Nanuet will play at home against Nyack 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
