Pearl River School Budget Vote And Election
Residents can vote on the school's proposed budget and elect new board members on May 17.

Pearl River residents will have a chance to vote on the school district's proposed budget and vote for Board of Education members on May 17.
The Pearl River Board of Education will bring the following budget plan to voters:
- Proposed Budget Total for 2016-17: $64,584,721
- Budget to Budget Change: 1.70 percent
- District-wide tax levy change: +0.48 percent
The spending plan is below the state tax cap and will result in a tax rate increase for homeowners of 0.34 percent.

The budget increase will fund improvements, including:
- expand academic programs
- hire a library media specialist at the elementary level
- increase the orchestra for the middle and high school
- add instructional technology coaches to work with teachers to integrate technology into the classrooms
- expand special education services
- add two assistant coaches.
District residents will also have the chance to vote for candidates for the open Board of Education seats. The candidates are Robert Davis and Christine Reddy.
