Roadwork Will Mean Closing Of Major Highway In Rockland
A planned closure of U.S. Route 9W will begin this evening and last until after midnight, according to the NYSDOT.

ORANGETOWN, NY — U.S. Route 9W is expected to close for several hours in Orangetown in Rockland County.
The New York State Department of Transportation said drivers should expect U.S. Route 9W to close in both directions between Valentine Avenue and Highland Avenue in Orangetown on Thursday, between 7 p.m. and midnight, for roadwork, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect delays and should follow the posted detour. Local residents will be able to access their properties, officials said.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your driver's license.
