Sardo Honored For Girls Gymnastics Floor Exercise Championship

ORANGETOWN, NY — Tappan Zee High School senior Carly Sardo, who captured the 2023 state Girls Gymnastics Floor Exercise Championship in March, was honored with a joint resolution by Sen. Bill Weber and Assemblyman John McGowan in Albany reflecting her outstanding athletic and academic achievements.

A standout gymnast for Tappan Zee High School, not only did Sardo defend her 2022 state title, but she also finished fourth in the all-around (37.4), fourth on the balance beam (9.450), and fifth on the vault (9.450) in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association competitions, they pointed out.

"Carly Sardo's overall record is outstanding. Competition instills the values of teamwork, pride, and accomplishment, and Carly has clearly contributed to that spirit of excellence," Weber said. "I also want to congratulate Carly's Coach, Audrey Donahue, a skilled and inspirational leader respected for her ability to develop potential into excellence."
