Vacationer From The UK Accused In Crash That Injured 14
Two children are still in critical condition after Saturday's three-car smashup on Route 301, police said.
ORANGETOWN, NY — A three-car crash Saturday caused by a wrong-way driver sent 14 to the hospital including two critically injured children, Orangetown police said.
Police said a 20-year-old man from Great Britain drove a BMW the wrong way on a one-way section of Greenbush Road and then onto Route 303, hitting a northbound car in the right lane which careened into a northbound car in the left lane.
He and a passenger in the BMW then ran into nearby woods where they were quickly found by police, Orangetown Police Capt. Michael Shannon told Patch.

Thomas Robb first struck a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Jacquelyn Pachay, 32, of Newark, New Jersey. The Cruze hit a 2021 Dodge Challenger driven by Lawrence McMannis Jr., 55, of Mahwah, New Jersey.
The three drivers and 11 passengers were transported to local hospitals. The children, aged 6 and 7, were still in critical condition Monday, Shannon said.

Robb, who is in the United States on vacation, Shannon said, now faces two felony charges: second-degree assault and leaving the scene of an incident with serious physical injury, and two misdemeanor charges: second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
After being treated he was sent to Rockland County Jail on $25,000 bail and is due in court Aug. 8.
Emergency responders from Blauvelt, Nyack, Piermont, Nanuet, South Orangetown and Rockland County were at the scene.
