Affordable Rent Artist Lofts Available In Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, NY — The Lofts on Main Street in Peekskill is accepting applications at the new affordable housing artist community .

The developers said Lofts on Main is designed in a way that will help the artists grow and prosper at their profession. The complex in the heart of the City of Peekskill’s Artist District consists of 75 two-story loft style apartments. The new artist community includes two buildings, one residential only and one mixed use. Of the 75 loft apartments, 50 will have a preference for those involved in artistic or literary activities, according to the building's management.

The buildings are LEED-certified. Amenities include gallery space for the resident artists, a fitness center, a rooftop terrace with Hudson River views, on-site laundry, an on-site superintendent, an on-site management office, a community room, and rooms specifically designed for performance practice.

All the units in Lofts on Main will be set at below market rents, according to the management. The artist units will start at $888 per month for a one-bedroom and $1,059.00 for a two-bedroom. The non-artist units will start at $1,350.00 per month for a one-bedroom and $1,600.00 for a two-bedroom.

The deadline for applications is October 31.
