Halsall is an art teacher in the Hendrick Hudson School District and former watercolor instructor at the Westchester Art Workshop and Garber is a retired art teacher from the same school district currently spending her time creating new paintings and directing the Flat Iron Gallery in Peekskill.
Halsall and Garber share a special relationship as art teachers who have worked together for many years and as personal friends and artists who have known each other and been active together in the local art community for the past thirty years. Summer is the time that most inspires their artistic explorations. Halsall enjoys painting natural forms like the seashells and beach glass she finds on the beaches of the North Atlantic and Garber is inspired by summer flowers and ocean shores she returns to every year to study.
