From the City of Peekskill: Due to the extreme heat, the City of Peekskill will open its cooling center for residents who do not have air conditioning and for those with ailments that may be impacted by high temperatures. The cooling center is located at the Neighborhood Center across from City Hall on the corner of Nelson Avenue and Main Street.
The Center will be open starting today, Wednesday June 20, 2012 from 8am to 9pm and again on Thursday, June 21 from 8am to 9pm. For additional information, residents can visit www.cityofpeekskill.com. Senior citizens, infants and residents with health conditions are especially encouraged to take advantage of the cooling center.
